MIDDLESBROUGH Environment City

Working hard in the community, delivering a diverse range of projects including eco shops as well as energy efficiency and cycling, abiding by and maintaining the standards for One Planet Living, transforming Jellystone Park, working tirelessly day after day to improve local lives and neighbourhoods however we can: For this, we were Highly Commended at the Civic Community Awards, held by Middlesbrough Council, for “Improving Our Neighbourhoods”.

No matter what, we will always work diligently to continue to improve our neighbourhoods and our local communities. That’s the MEC way: So it has always been, and so it always shall be.

Another great session, led by Les and Kim (Communities Growing Together's own maestros of the kitchen) for some of the wonderful volunteers who assist with Communities Growing Together and on the Sandy Flatts Community Allotment!

They cooked up a crustless Pea, Mint and Feta quiche with accompanying side salads including a leafy green salad and a tomato & onion salad, as well as some minted new potatoes. For afters, they made a Mixed Berry Fool (using very much the same recipe we posted last week), and they even got started on making some hearty Tomato Soup for this Friday's Volunteer Action Day at Regeneration of Communities!

A busy day, but made a doddle by MEC's MVPs in Les & Kim! Well done to our dynamic duo, and thank you to those who came, enjoyed a social lunch and helped to make it as well! ... See MoreSee Less
