MIDDLESBROUGH Environment City
We are Middlesbrough Environment City (Often abbreviated to MEC or MEnvCity), a charity dedicated to promoting healthy and sustainable living using the ten principles of One Planet Living. We work extensively in and around the Tees Valley to support healthy lifestyles and create sustainable change through community action and events. We also run numerous events across the calendar year.
Our ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for our community, through sustainability and the promotion of healthy living, whilst reducing the impact on Earth’s resources. After all, there is no other home waiting for us: If we can save the planet while helping the community, we will gladly do so!

Latest News
Communities Growing Together were proud as punch to host Recovery Connections today with a fantastic group who all rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in with Les and Kim. The ever-effervescent Les and Kim were cooking a Lentil Soup with Cheese Scones, and passing on their knowledge to this amazing group. After cooking up a storm, they had a cuppa and a chat, followed by tasting the fruits of their labour which went down an absolute treat, with every last scone gone!
This was a closed session, but Communities Growing Together are hosting open Seasonal Cooking Workshops! Alas, these have proven to be very popular and are pretty much fully booked for our sessions on May 8th and June 5th: Be sure to contact LesAndKim@menvcity.org.uk for more information on potential future sessions, as well as keep an eye on our social media!
