Middlesbrough Environment City is working in partnership with Incredible Edible in the North East of England to create kind, confident and connected communities through the power of food.
As part of a Big Lottery funded project to invest in and strengthen Incredible Edible’s work, Joe Dunne, The Food Partnership Coordinator at MEC, is one of six Incredible Edible Regional Facilitators and is covering the North East of England. There are around 100 Incredible Edible groups in the UK and over 600 worldwide, who all believe in the power of small actions.
Anyone can join volunteer-led Incredible Edible groups, where everyone believes ‘if you eat, you’re in!’. Groups all spin three plates which make them Incredible:
Community: We galvanise our community through growing and celebrating local food
Learning: We bring learning to life, from plot to playground
Business: We support local and buy local
MEC is happy to partner with Incredible Edible to support communities in the North East. See www.incredibleedible.org.uk to find out more information, or contact Joe Dunne if you’d like to start up a new Incredible Edible group in your community.
