Shopmobility at Middlesbrough Green Hub

Located in the Bus Station in the centre of town, Shopmobility at Middlesbrough Green Hub loans scooters, manual wheelchairs and walkers to people with mobility needs. This enables them to do their shopping independently or to use other town centre facilities within catchment area of the scheme.

How do I register with Shopmobility at Middlesbrough Green Hub?

Before you can hire a wheelchair or scooter for the first time, you will be asked to complete a registration form and show a document that confirms your identity, such as a driving license, pension book or utility bill – It must have your name and address on it.

You must also demonstrate to us that you can operate the scooter or wheelchair safely or alternatively undertake basic training. Once you are registered you may also wish to consider becoming a member.

Booking isn’t necessary but availability is not guaranteed and it is advisable to book in advance.

How much does it cost?

Hiring a mobility scooter costs £3 for the first 2 hours, which must be hired as a minimum. Further hours may be booked for an additional £1.50 an hour.
