Project Aim

To prevent type 2 diabetes in BME communities in Middlesbrough

The Project

New Life New You is a community based project that helps reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes in the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) population in Middlesbrough. Through an 8 week physical activity and dietary advice programme, NLNY has helped not only reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes for participants, but encouraged a healthier and physically active lifestyle within the Middlesbrough BME community.

Get Involved

To be eligible for the programme, you must

  • Be a resident of Middlesbrough
  • Be at least 25 years old
  • Not already have diabetes
